Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS): Red flag is coming!

Maybe you are having some signs before your period starts to happen. These signs are called Premenstrual Syndrome or PMS. It is a combined emotional and physical symptoms that most women get before their menstrual period starts and right after ovulation. Generally, it comes with physical pain and feeling enigma.

Having PMS with unbearable pain like headaches and moodiness can sometimes lead you to miss work or school. These are mostly to be experienced by young adolescents up to ‘30s of women. However, PMS symptoms stop after menopause.

Signs and Symptoms of PMS

For physical symptoms, these are the following:

  • Headache and backache
  • Joint and muscle pain
  • Tenderness of breasts
  • Gain weight
  • Clumsiness
  • Fatigue
  • Acne

While emotional or behavioral symptoms can include:

  • Mood swings & irritability (most common or severe symptoms of PMS)
  • Anxiety and/or depression
  • Less social or inactive
  • Lack of concentration
  • Sleep problems
  • Food cravings
  • Feeling tired

Causes of PMS

There are no specific causes of PMS, but changes in hormone levels during the menstrual cycle may play a role. And these may also include:

  • Smoking
  • Lack of sleep
  • Depressed
  • No physical activities or exercise
  • Drinking too much alcohol and coffee
  • Eating too much salty or sugary food

Tips to Prevent PMS Symptoms

To prevent having PMS you can practice the following:

  • Eat healthy food
  • Avoid too much salty food, caffeine and alcohol
  • Proper exercise at least 30 minutes a day
  • Get plenty of sleep
  • Get enough rest

The prevention tips mentioned above will be to great help for those women who suffer from symptoms. PMS does not have a test for diagnosis, but for those who cannot endure the pain or with severe symptoms must see a doctor.

  1. I’m not sure exactly why but this weblog is loading incredibly slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a issue on my end? I’ll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.
